I am Monty Shakespeare (“I”, “me”, “my”, “mine”), operating as a sole trader under the name of Shakespeare Web & Social. I provide website design, social media services, and a range of digital marketing services.

I am the data controller, meaning I decide how and why personal data is collected, and how it is used.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect the following data when users and site visitors submit the contact form found at shakespearewebsocial.co.uk/contact.

I use this information to reply to your enquiry and provide the services you request. We process this data on the lawful basis of fulfilling a contract with you or legitimate interests in managing communications and improving our services.

Your data is kept secure and is never shared with anyone except necessary trusted providers needed to handle your request. When you submit the contact form on our website, the information you provide is sent directly to my email inbox – monty@shakespearewebsocial.co.uk. These emails are logged temporarily using a WordPress plugin entitled WP Mail Logging.

I also use Google Analytics to see how visitors use this website, such as pages visited, time spent on each page, and how visitors arrive at this website. This data is anonymous and does not personally identify any visitors. This data is used to see how visitors use our website and how this website can be improved.

Your data is only collected to help us communicate with you and improve our services, and it is stored safely.

Contact form

As mentioned in the preceding section, we collect your name, email address, our services that you are enquiring about, and any comments or questions that you may have. This data is sent to my email inbox – monty@shakespearewebsocial.co.uk – and is also logged in WP Mail Logging. The logs in WP Mail Logging are deleted after 60 days. Enquiries that don’t become clients are kept for up to 12 months in case of a follow-up. If an enquiry becomes a project or client, we retain the data for the duration of the project plus any period required for legal and accounting purposes (typically 6 years). Throughout this duration, your data is kept securely and is never shared with anyone except trusted service providers needed to handle your enquiry.

This website does not use any first-party cookies. We use third-party Google Analytics, which is used to understand how visitors use this website, and how it can be improved.

Analytics

Who we share your data with

We share your data with any trusted third-party providers that may be necessary. For example, we may share your data with hosting providers if you choose to have a website built with us, or we may share your data with social media platforms if you choose to have social media management done by us.

We do not share your data unnecessarily or unlawfully, and all third parties are required to handle your information securely and in line with UK data protection law.

How long we retain your data

  • Data is deleted when no longer needed.
  • Data is only provided to trusted third-party providers, and access to this data is restricted to strictly necessary parties.

Despite these measures, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. By using this website or submitting on the contact form, you acknowledge this minimal inherent risk.

What data breach procedures we have in place
